1. What this notice covers

Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. Similar technologies — including local storage, session storage, pixels, tags, and device identifiers — perform comparable functions. This notice covers both, and refers to them together as “cookies and similar technologies.”

This notice describes the aplies website only. The aplies browser extension is a separate product: it runs inside your own browser session, and what it does with your data is described in the Privacy Policy.

2. What aplies actually uses

The full list is two entries. That is not a summary or a representative sample — it is everything the website stores on your device.

aplies sets no other cookies. If you never touch the language switcher, no cookie is written at all.

3. What aplies does not use

To be unambiguous, the aplies website does not use any of the following:

No analytics or measurement cookies — and no third-party analytics product of any kind.
No advertising or marketing cookies.
No tracking pixels and no conversion or remarketing tags.
No tag manager.
No session recording and no heat-mapping.
No cross-site or cross-context behavioural advertising — and no sale or sharing of personal information for such advertising.
No third-party cookies of any kind. The only cookie described above is first-party.

The website also has no sign-up and no contact form, so it sets no authentication or session cookies. Nothing on the website builds a profile of you, and nothing follows you to other sites.

4. Why there is no cookie banner

Under EU and UK ePrivacy rules, consent is required before non-essential information is stored on or read from your device — which is what analytics, advertising, and tracking technologies do. A consent banner exists to obtain that consent.

aplies uses none of those technologies. The single cookie the website sets is a preference you actively request by choosing a language from the switcher, and the stored theme value works the same way. There is nothing here for you to consent to, so asking you to dismiss a banner would be theatre rather than protection.

If that ever changes, this notice is updated first, and consent is obtained where required before any such technology is used on the website.

5. How to control cookies

You can delete or block cookies through your browser settings at any time — every major browser allows this, usually under “Privacy” or “Security.” Blocking or deleting the aplies cookie has one effect only: the site will not remember your language choice, and you will need to select it again.

Clearing site data for the aplies website also clears the stored theme preference, so the site will return to its default appearance. Nothing else is affected, because nothing else is stored.

6. Changes to this notice

We update this notice whenever our practices change — including if we ever introduce a technology that is not listed in section 2. The effective date shown at the top of this page tells you which version you are reading.
