Answers

Frequently asked.
Plainly answered.

Aplies is a Chrome extension that applies to LinkedIn jobs for you from your CV, and asks you when it isn't sure. Each answer below opens with the short version; the documentation has the detail.

What it does

What is Aplies?

Aplies is a Chrome extension, the Aplies Agent, that applies to jobs for you. It searches LinkedIn for the job titles and places you choose, fills each application from your CV and submits it. It works with an Aplies account, which holds your credits, your plan and a record of every application.

Does it submit applications without me?

Yes. Once you press Start, it opens the jobs that clear your minimum match, fills each form and submits it on its own after a short pause. There is no approve-before-submit step: it stops to ask you only when it isn't sure of an answer, and every application is in your record afterwards.

More in the documentation

Where does it apply?

On LinkedIn, through Easy Apply, and, if you turn it on, on employers' own careers pages. It searches LinkedIn only; with company websites on, it follows a job's Apply button to the employer's site and applies there.

More in the documentation

How does it decide which jobs to apply to?

By a match score you control. Every job gets a score out of 100, from AI when it is reachable: mostly how well it fits the title you searched for, partly your CV. Jobs below your “Min job match %”, 60 by default, are never opened and never cost anything.

Can it run on a schedule?

Yes, while Chrome is open. In Settings → Schedule, choose “Every few hours” (every 1 to 24 hours) or “At set times of day”. It is off by default, nothing runs while Chrome is closed, and every limit and credit rule still applies.

Which languages does it work in?

English, today. The site and the Agent are in English; more languages are coming.

Account safety

Does it need my LinkedIn password?

No. It never asks for or stores your LinkedIn password; it works inside the LinkedIn session you are already signed into in Chrome.

More in the documentation

Can using it get my LinkedIn account restricted?

Nobody can promise it won't. LinkedIn's User Agreement restricts automated tools, so using one is your decision. Aplies keeps a human pace, stays under an hourly limit you set and a daily ceiling it never passes, never solves a security check, and ends the run when LinkedIn shows a warning. The limits are the same on every plan.

More in the documentation

What happens at a CAPTCHA or security check?

It stops; it never solves one. On LinkedIn, a CAPTCHA or verification stops the run. On a company site, that one job is skipped at no charge and the run continues.

More in the documentation

What if LinkedIn shows a warning?

The run ends. An account restriction, a warning, LinkedIn's Easy Apply limit or a sign-in check ends the run; it waits for you, or for a schedule a day after the limit.

Asking and accuracy

What happens when it isn't sure of an answer?

It asks you. Answers the AI writes carry a confidence: at 80% or more they are filled in; below 80% it asks you (on company sites, for required questions only). It plays a chime (on by default), shows a Chrome notification, and puts a count on the toolbar icon and a card on the page: “We need your answer”.

More in the documentation

What if I don't answer in time?

It goes on without you. You have up to three minutes, less if you are away. Then ordinary questions go out with the Agent's own best answer. If a personal fact or a blank required answer is still open, that job is dropped: not submitted and not charged.

More in the documentation

Will it ask me the same question twice?

Usually not. Every answer you type is saved and reused the next time a form asks the same question, on LinkedIn and on company sites, and it is backed up to your account.

More in the documentation

Which personal facts does it never make up?

Your date of birth, gender, nationality, phone and notice period, which come from what you entered in setup. If a form needs one of these and the Agent isn't confident, it asks you, and if you don't answer, it drops that job rather than guess. Gender is never guessed from your name.

More in the documentation

How does it answer yes/no and work-authorisation questions?

From your CV and your setup. On yes/no questions about skills, qualifications or a driving licence, it answers “Yes” unless your CV says otherwise, but never on legal status, immigration, criminal history, clearance or professional licences. The AI is told to answer work-authorisation and sponsorship questions from your nationality and where you live, and to ask you when it is unsure. It avoids answering “0 years” to an experience question.

More in the documentation

How does it handle diversity questions?

It declines them. Questions about race, ethnicity, veteran status, disability or sexual orientation get the form's “decline to answer” option, or are left blank.

More in the documentation

Does it write cover letters?

On company sites it attaches the cover letter you saved, and it fills a summary box from your CV. Save a cover letter under “Other documents” in setup and the Agent attaches it when a company form asks for it by name. When a form has a text box for a summary or a cover letter, it writes a short professional statement from your CV.

More in the documentation

What if a form rejects an answer?

It corrects the answer and tries again, at most twice. It reads the form's error first; if the form still refuses, it stops that application and records the form's reason in your report. An application that stops before submitting costs nothing.

More in the documentation

How does it answer salary questions?

From the figures you enter in setup, in US dollars. You can add your own figures in other currencies; otherwise the Agent converts your US-dollar figure with a conversion table built into it, and halves it for part-time roles. Questions it can't read safely go to the AI with your figures, or come back to you.

Company sites

Does it apply on company career sites?

Only if you turn it on. It is off by default: choose “LinkedIn + company websites” in setup, or turn on “Apply on company websites” in Settings → General. Chrome then asks once for access to sites. Each company-site application costs 2 credits.

More in the documentation

Which application systems does it support?

Greenhouse, Lever, Ashby, SmartRecruiters and Workday have dedicated support, and every other careers site goes through a general engine that finds the application form on the page and fills it. Workday almost always needs a candidate account, which the Agent never creates, so most Workday applications are left open for you to finish.

More in the documentation

Does it work with Workday?

Rarely all the way. Workday almost always needs a candidate account, and the Agent never creates accounts or types passwords on a company site. At a sign-in wall it stops, leaves the tab open for you and tells you.

More in the documentation

What won't it do on a company site?

It won't create an account, type a password, solve a security check or use a careers page on plain http. A security check skips that one job, at no charge, and the run continues.

Credits and plans

How much does one application cost?

1 credit for a LinkedIn Easy Apply, 2 credits for an application on a company website. The credit is reserved just before the Agent submits, and charged when the application goes through.

More in the documentation

Am I charged if an application fails?

No: you pay only for applications the Agent submits. Anything that stops before submitting costs nothing, however often, and a submission that fails with a reason isn't charged either. If no result comes back after it submits (say, Chrome was closed), it is charged and marked as unconfirmed, and support can review it.

More in the documentation

Is there a free trial?

Yes: 10 free credits when you verify a phone number on WhatsApp or Telegram. No card is needed. They last 30 days from unlocking, and one phone number unlocks free credits for one account.

More in the documentation

What's the difference between the plans?

How many credits they give, and how long those credits last. The plans, by credits a month: Light (50), Essential (200), Pro (450), Executive (700), and Signature (1,000). Every one runs the same Agent at the same pace with the same limits. Pay monthly or yearly; a yearly plan delivers the whole year's credits at once. The Pricing page has the full comparison.

More in the documentation

Do credits expire?

Yes, and the soonest-expiring are spent first. On a monthly plan, credits last to the end of the paid month, and longer on Executive and Signature, where each carry keeps 90% (a 10% carry-over fee). On a yearly plan they last the twelve months paid for. When a plan ends, its credits keep their own dates, and you are warned 7 days before any expire.

More in the documentation

Can I add credits, or send them to someone?

Yes. Add 30 to 10,000 credits at any time without changing plan; the more you add, the lower the rate per credit. You can send credits to another Aplies account for a 10% fee, at least 2 credits. Free and referral credits can't be sent.

More in the documentation

What do I get for inviting someone?

1 credit when the person you invite verifies their phone, and 4 more when they first subscribe. Both of you need a verified phone, referral credits last 3 months, and the person you invite gets the standard free credits.

More in the documentation

Can I cancel?

Yes, any time, from Settings → Billing. Your plan keeps working to the end of the period you paid for and isn't renewed; the unused part of that period isn't refunded. The credits you hold keep their own dates.

Your data

Is my CV uploaded to Aplies?

The file isn't; its text is. The Agent pulls the text out of your CV on your computer and sends it to Aplies' AI service to pick out your details, and the details and the text are kept in your profile, backed up to your account and encrypted at rest. The file itself stays in the Agent on your computer and goes only to the employer forms that ask for it.

More in the documentation

What does Aplies store?

Your account, credits and plan; your profile details, including your CV's text, and your saved answers, backed up and encrypted at rest; a record of your applications, with the job, the company, the method, the outcome, the credits charged, and the questions and answers; and sign-in records (IP address, approximate location). The Privacy Policy lists the rest. Never your LinkedIn password.

More in the documentation

Who else sees my information?

Groq and NVIDIA, reached through Aplies' own server, see your CV text, your profile details (contact, date of birth, salary and the like), the job and its questions. Employers see the applications you send them. The Sub-processors page lists each kind of service that processes data for Aplies.

More in the documentation

Where can I see what it sent?

In the Agent's Application Report: every attempt, failures included, with each question, the answer given and its confidence. You can export it as a CSV file, and your dashboard on aplies.com lists your applications with the credits charged.

More in the documentation

Can I delete my data?

Yes. In the Agent, Settings → Account has “Clear history & cache” and “Clear all data”. On aplies.com, delete your account from Settings → Security; the Privacy Policy explains what happens next.

Install and setup

What do I need to use it?

Chrome on a desktop computer, signed in to LinkedIn; an Aplies account; and your CV as a PDF, Word (.docx) or plain-text file, up to 8 MB. Other browsers and phones aren't supported today.

More in the documentation

How do I install it?

Sign in on aplies.com, open the Install page and press “Add to Chrome”. It installs from the Chrome Web Store and updates itself. Then connect your account in the Agent and follow the setup wizard.

More in the documentation

Do I need to open LinkedIn first?

No. Press “Start applying” and the Agent opens its own LinkedIn tab in the background. You only need to be signed in to LinkedIn in that Chrome.

More in the documentation

What does setup ask for, and can I change it later?

Five steps: Welcome (connect your account, choose where to apply, give Chrome access), CV (add it and check what it read), Jobs (titles, places, filters and your minimum match), Salary, and Finish. Change anything later with “Setup” in the Agent, or in its Settings.
